Meanwhile, Carlo meets up with an old military friend and picks up some ammunition and gear before riding a Ducati 999, to Michael's mansion, intending to kill him. Natasha wakes up in Michael's mansion, realizing that she is now his property. Michael's henchmen, dressed as paramedics, place Natasha in an ambulance and speed off.

Before Carlo can reach Jason to rescue him, the Diablo bursts into flames, killing his brother instantly. Natasha (driving a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren) takes on Jason (driving a Lamborghini Diablo). At the same time, Brecken wagers his brand-new Enzo Ferrari on Natasha. However, she is unaware that Infamous has to place her on his wager, as Michael - who has been obsessed with her since watching her band perform on stage earlier - has placed four platinum bars at stake.

When Infamous' driver fakes an ankle injury, Natasha becomes Infamous' driver in exchange for $300,000 and a recording contract. On the outskirts of Vegas, a high-stakes race event is being held, with Michael, Infamous, Hollywood producer Jerry Brecken and Chinese businessman Marcus Cheng placing their bets over who has the better car. They are unaware that Michael has been running an unsuccessful counterfeiting ring and owes millions of dollars to another syndicate led by the 'Godfather'. Carlo is not happy that Jason is living with their mob boss uncle Michael D'Orazio, whom he blames for their family's destruction. Meanwhile, on another side of town, USAF veteran Carlo, returning from a tour of duty in Iraq, meets up with his brother Jason before heading to Vegas themselves. I blame Pixar greatly because it hasn't been listening to the suggestions (let's not call them 'demands') of fans: if there must be a sequel, it must be The Incredibles 2, not Cars 2, not Finding Dory, not Monsters University, no Toy Story 3 (an overrated sentimental mess). This had no nostalgic quality, no logic in its continuity, no comprehensible character connections. What's the use? What's the logic behind such decision? In what book is it stated that making a film with thought-provoking reflections, either metaphysical, earthly or heartwarming, and continuing it with a 'comedic' international espionage twist is supposed to contribute ANYTHING to the story? I would only justify such attempt with independent or renowned filmmakers, as was the case of Hal Hartley, but we are talking about Pixar here, a company focused at making trascendental 3D-animated films aimed at all types of audiences. And it suffers from exactly the same f***ing syndrome: an illusion of international espionage parody. I saw Cars 2 for the first time exactly one week after watching Hal Hartley's sequel to Henry Fool, called Fay Grim. What a bizarre turn of bizarre events that came straight out from Bizarro world. Jesus Christ, it reminds me of Fay Grim (2006).
